There's no debating the exceptional nutritional value of these bars. And as a meal replacement they offer enough calories and vital supplements to get one from one meal to the next without compromise. Also, as a Type 1 diabetic I can eat portions of the bar between meals with no penalty on blood sugar. What this bar lacks is lip-smacking, salivary-squirting, nostril-flaring taste. It's a bit bland to my palate, and Amazing Grass might be advised to sample the Odwalla bars for a reference point on flavor and texture. Otherwise, it's almost as good as this type of supplement can get.

This makes a great breakfast with a cup of coffee. It's organic almond butter, organic bananas, organic walnuts and more. I love the peanut butter one with chocolate chips for an afternoon snack, but this is perfect for breakfast.

I am new to macrobiotics, so I am still training myself to stay within the guidelines, but sometimes I either need a quick healthy snack or a treat to reward myself. These bars are really yummy. They are a little small to use for a meal replacement, but they make a great snack or a healthy dessert alternative. I have tried four of the flavors, and so far these are my favorite, but they have all been good. I have been using Vega since my sophomore year in high school (06'/07'), didn't enjoy it much then. Now I love it. For the past three years I have been using it as often as I can get my hands on it, normally once a day when I have it. I have used other meal replacements such as RAW MEAL and others in attempt to get a 'better deal', and Vega has consistently come out on top. During my University experience, Vega has become an essential part of my diet when my fruits and vegetable intake is sometimes not as high as it would normally be. Best of all, this meal replacement is plant based and mostly raw.Other meal replacements such as RAW MEAL provide similar benefits I'm sure, but the taste, although I can get it down with water, is a challenge. As well, the taste cannot be masked in Raw Meal I found. Vega is ENJOYABLE to drink, and it is a part of my day I look forward to.As for the taste, I strongly recommend the original flavor if only using with water. I find the three flavors including Vanilla Chai harder to take with water. I purchased the Vanilla Chai this time because it tastes great in smoothies and it was at a great price. Over the years I have found that my taste buds have slowly adapted to love the taste of the original flavor mixed with water, I strongly attribute this to cutting out most of the junk food in my diet, making my taste buds 'cleaner'. These Nature Valley "Crunchy Granola Bars, Oats 'n Honey" are a tasty mid-afternoon snack and are filling enough to hold me over until dinner. These are, as the name suggests, very crunchy and can be a little messy (crumbs) when eating. Since these are somewhat dry, they also travel well in the heat or in a pocket.My kids will eat these in place of candy, which is another plus, but these are too hard for my wife who has sensitive teeth.Highly Recommended! These bars are so bad that even when my cupboards are void of all yummy candy and chocolate, i don't eat them. Someone gave me a box at my baby shower. My baby is 8 months old and i still have 3 bars left. My husband even tried one and declared "this tastes like straw" so then i had to taste one again and that's EXACTLY what they taste liked. Horrid.Maybe they've changed the recipe in the past year? but if not - horrible. We love cliff bars. I like luna bars. By no means did it need to taste like candy for me to like it, it is just awful!!

I first tried this product at my local Whole Foods grocery store and loved it! What I really enjoy about it is that I'm not drinking junk, no chemicals, no additives, no food coloring... Nothing bad! Both flavors, the chocolate and vanilla, are tasty! I'm also vegetarian and a majorly picky eater, so this product really suited my problems of not intaking enough protein.What made me a believer in this product is that I was given a suggestion to drink a protein shake, ala Orgain, about 15-60 minutes after working out at the gym. I've given this a test trial for a week and noticed dramatic results. I recover faster, easier, and I'm energized after the fact. I sleep better at night too. These bars are so healthy you would think they would taste plain. They are fantastic. Wonderful chocolate and high in protein with the peanut butter. I originally purchased them for a snack....they can be a meal replacement anytime.....you never feel hungry.
